In Indian mythology Lord Hanuman is designated as the god of Kaliyuga, the era in which we are living in, and which is considered as the last of the four stages the world goes through as part of the cycle of yugas described in the Indian scriptures. The other ages are Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga and Dvapara Yuga. Lord Hanuman is worshiped by millions of devotees in India, and he is also called as Balaji.

Jhakhu Temple near the Khajuraho village one will find a Hanuman Temple built by Raja Sujan Singh, the then Orchha ruler in 1717. There is a massive statue of Hanuman of 8 ft high inside the temple. The Hanuman Temple situated at Baba Kharak Singh Marg close to Connaught Place is a small but a very well-designed temple, built in 1724.

A pre-historic Hindu pilgrimage site, the Galtaji Temple, is located only 10km away from Jaipur. One of the jewels of Jaipur, the temple complex encompasses natural fresh water springs and 7 holy 'kunds' or water tanks. Among these kunds, the 'Galta Kund', is the holiest one and is believed to never get dry.

Hanuman Mandir is located at Baba Kharak Singh Marg in Connaught Place, New Delhi. It is one of the oldest Hanumana Temple in India.The Temple is said to be built by Raja Jai Singh around 1724 AD.

The Hanumangadhi temple is in Ayodhya. It is situates on the right side bank of river Saryu on a high hill. People have to climb 76 stairs to reach this temple. The Hanuman idol installed here is only 6 inches long, which is always, adorned with garlands.

In Churu district of Rajasthan, is a small village called Salasar. In this village, there is a statue of Hanuman which has beard and mustache too. It is believed that this Hanuman statue was found by a farmer while walking around a field. The idol has been placed on a gold throne now.

Near Chitrakut, there is a small place called Hanumandhara. Here there is an old idol of Lord Hanuman standing against a mountain for years. And a small water flow that meets the river touches this idol.

This is an ancient place associated with Hanuman’s name. Here is a huge temple known as Sankatmochan. It is believed that Tulsidas had himself established this temple.

In 1540, along with Jamnagar, this temple of Lord Hanuman was also established. Here, since 1964, the rama dhuni is continuously being sung and this is why its name is also mentioned in the guineas book of world records.

Right opposite Patna junction, there is a famous temple of Lord Hanuman called Mahavir Temple. In Northeren India, after the Vaishno Devi Temple, this temple gets the maximum offerings. Around 1 lakh is deposited in this temple every day.
