Kudremukh

''Kudremukh literally means 'horse-face' and refers to an impressive scenic sight of a side of the mountain that looks similar to the face of a horse. It is a small town located in the Chikmaglur district in Karnataka and is placed nearby the mountain range with the same name i.e Kudremukh.
A place famous for mining ores, the ore company located in Kudremukh carries out mining operations, purifications and transportation of the slurry to the Mangalore port through huge pipelines. Currently, Kundremukh is flourishing as a contemporary township, thanks to the Ore Company. ''

Jamalabad Fort - Jamalabad is famous for its fort built by Tipu Sultan, the Tiger of Mysore in 1794. The fort was renamed after his mother Jamalbee.

Kadambi Waterfalls - Kadambi Waterfalls is one of the spectacular natural attractions of Karnataka. The falls are located inside the Kudremukh National Park in the Chikmagalur district of Karnataka. The waterfall has a height of about 30 feet.

Lakya Dam - The Lakya Dam is a check dam built across the river Lakya, a tributary of the Bhadra river. The dam was constructed by Kudremukh Iron Ore Company.

Kudremukh National Park - The Kudremukh National Park is located at a distance of 96 km from the district of Chikmagalur in the state of Karnataka in India. Nestled in the Western Ghats, the park is spread over an area of over 600 sq km at an altitude of 1,894 m above sea level.

Gangamoola - In Samse Taluk of Chikmaglur district, the Gangamoola Hill is surrounded by thick forests. Three important rivers, the Tunga, the Bhadra and the Nethravathi have their origin here.

Hanuman Gundi Falls - Hanuman Gundi Falls lie in the midst of Karkala and Lakhya Dam. Therefore, it is the ideal spot for people who are looking forward to spend time amidst peaceful environment. Tourists interested in getting down to waterfalls safely have to pay nominal fee of INR 30 per head. The forest department of the area has built safe steps that will allow tourists to get down to Hanuman Gundi Falls.

Kudremukh Peak - People who are looking forward to visit the Kudremukh Peak will be offered best facilities and necessary equipments for trekking. Moreover, they do not need to worry about lodging facilities as proper accommodation services are available in proximity of Kundremukh Peak, such as forest lodges and guest houses. In order to reach this site, tourists can board private or state operated buses from the nearby Kalasa town.

Rail: Tarekere railway station is the nearest railhead to Kudremukh. The railhead is well connected to Mangalore and Bangalore with frequent trains. One can easily reach the place by rail without thinking too much about how to reach Kudremukh.

Road: Kudremukh is well linked by bus services. State as well as private buses both run from and to the region on a regular basis. These buses solve much of the problems of the tourists who are worried about how to reach Kudremukh.
