महाभारत को ‘पंचम वेद’ कहा गया है। यह ग्रंथ हमारे देश के मन-प्राण में बसा हुआ है। यह भारत की राष्ट्रीय गाथा है। इस ग्रंथ में तत्कालीन भारत (आर्यावर्त) का समग्र इतिहास वर्णित है। अपने आदर्श स्त्री-पुरुषों के चरित्रों से हमारे देश के जन-जीवन को यह प्रभावित करता रहा है। इसमें सैकड़ों पात्रों, स्थानों, घटनाओं तथा विचित्रताओं व विडंबनाओं का वर्णन है। प्रत्येक हिंदू के घर में महाभारत होना चाहिए।
महाभारत में कई घटना, संबंध और ज्ञान-विज्ञान के रहस्य छिपे हुए हैं। महाभारत का हर पात्र जीवंत है, चाहे वह कौरव, पांडव, कर्ण और कृष्ण हो या धृष्टद्युम्न, शल्य, शिखंडी और कृपाचार्य हो। महाभारत सिर्फ योद्धाओं की गाथाओं तक सीमित नहीं है। महाभारत से जुड़े शाप, वचन और आशीर्वाद में भी रहस्य छिपे हैं।
दरअसल, महाभारत की कहानी युद्ध के बाद समाप्त नहीं होती है। असल में महाभारत की कहानी तो युद्ध के बाद शुरू होती है। आज तक अश्वत्थामा क्यों जीवित है? क्यों यदुवंशियों के नाश का शाप दिया गया था और क्यों धर्म चल पड़ा था कलियुग की राह पर। महाभारत का रहस्य अभी सुलझना बाकी है। महाभारत युद्ध और उससे जुड़े दस रहस्यों का हमने पता लगाया और जिसे आप शायद ही जानते हों...
1] 18 का रहस्य :
कहते हैं कि महाभारत युद्ध में 18 संख्या का बहुत महत्व है। महाभारत की पुस्तक में 18 अध्याय हैं। कृष्ण ने कुल 18 दिन तक अर्जुन को ज्ञान दिया। 18 दिन तक ही युद्ध चला। गीता में भी 18 अध्याय हैं। कौरवों और पांडवों की सेना भी कुल 18 अक्षोहिनी सेना थी जिनमें कौरवों की 11 और पांडवों की 7 अक्षोहिनी सेना थी। इस युद्ध के प्रमुख सूत्रधार भी 18 थे। इस युद्ध में कुल 18 योद्धा ही जीवित बचे थे।
सवाल यह उठता है कि सब कुछ 18 की संख्या में ही क्यों होता गया? क्या यह संयोग है या इसमें कोई रहस्य छिपा है?
2] क्या आज भी जीवित हैं अश्वत्थामा :
विज्ञान यह नहीं मानता कि कोई व्यक्ति हजारों वर्षों तक जीवित रह सकता है। ज्यादा से ज्यादा 150 वर्ष तक जीवित रहा जा सकता है वह भी इस शर्त पर कि आबोहवा और खानपान अच्छा हो तो। तब ऐसे में कैसे माना जा सकता है कि अश्वत्थामा जीवित होंगे।
क्यों जीवित हैं अश्वत्थामा : महाभारत के युद्ध में अश्वत्थामा ने ब्रह्मास्त्र छोड़ दिया था जिसके चलते लाखों लोग मारे गए थे। अश्वत्थामा के इस कृत्य से कृष्ण क्रोधित हो गए थे और उन्होंने अश्वत्थामा को शाप दिया था कि 'तू इतने वधों का पाप ढोता हुआ तीन हजार वर्ष तक निर्जन स्थानों में भटकेगा। तेरे शरीर से सदैव रक्त की दुर्गंध नि:सृत होती रहेगी। तू अनेक रोगों से पीड़ित रहेगा।' व्यास ने श्रीकृष्ण के वचनों का अनुमोदन किया।
कहते हैं कि अश्वत्थामा इस शाप के बाद रेगिस्तानी इलाके में चला गया था और वहां रहने लगा था। कुछ लोग मानते हैं कि वह अरब चला गया था। उत्तरप्रदेश में प्रचलित मान्यता अनुसार अरब में उसने कृष्ण और पांडवों के धर्म को नष्ट करने की प्रतिज्ञा ली थी।
3] महाभारत काल में विमान और परमाणु अस्त्र थे? :
मोहन जोदड़ो में कुछ ऐसे कंकाल मिले थे जिसमें रेडिएशन का असर था। महाभारत में सौप्तिक पर्व के अध्याय 13 से 15 तक ब्रह्मास्त्र के परिणाम दिए गए हैं। हिंदू इतिहास के जानकारों के मुताबिक 3 नवंबर 5561 ईसापूर्व छोड़ा हुआ ब्रह्मास्त्र परमाणु बम ही था?
महाभारत में इसका वर्णन मिलता है- ''तदस्त्रं प्रजज्वाल महाज्वालं तेजोमंडल संवृतम।।'' ''सशब्द्म्भवम व्योम ज्वालामालाकुलं भृशम। चचाल च मही कृत्स्ना सपर्वतवनद्रुमा।।'' 8 ।। 10 ।।14।।
अर्थात ब्रह्मास्त्र छोड़े जाने के बाद भयंकर वायु जोरदार तमाचे मारने लगी। सहस्रावधि उल्का आकाश से गिरने लगे। भूतमातरा को भयंकर महाभय उत्पन्न हो गया। आकाश में बड़ा शब्द हुआ। आकाश जलाने लगा पर्वत, अरण्य, वृक्षों के साथ पृथ्वी हिल गई।
अब सवाल यह उठता है कि क्या सचमुच ही हमारी आज की टेक्नोलॉजी से कहीं ज्यादा उन्नत थी महाभारतकालीन टेक्नोलॉजी?
4] कौरवों का जन्म एक रहस्य :
कौरवों को कौन नहीं जानता। धृतराष्ट्र और गांधारी के 99 पुत्र और एक पुत्री थीं जिन्हें कौरव कहा जाता था। कुरु वंश के होने के कारण ये कौरव कहलाए। सभी कौरवों में दुर्योधन सबसे बड़ा था। गांधारी जब गर्भवती थी, तब धृतराष्ट्र ने एक दासी के साथ सहवास किया था जिसके चलते युयुत्सु नामक पुत्र का जन्म हुआ। इस तरह कौरव सौ हो गए।
गांधारी ने वेदव्यास से पुत्रवती होने का वरदान प्राप्त कर किया। गर्भ धारण कर लेने के पश्चात भी दो वर्ष व्यतीत हो गए, किंतु गांधारी के कोई भी संतान उत्पन्न नहीं हुई। इस पर क्रोधवश गांधारी ने अपने पेट पर जोर से मुक्के का प्रहार किया जिससे उसका गर्भ गिर गया।
वेदव्यास ने इस घटना को तत्काल ही जान लिया। वे गांधारी के पास आकर बोले- 'गांधारी! तूने बहुत गलत किया। मेरा दिया हुआ वर कभी मिथ्या नहीं जाता। अब तुम शीघ्र ही सौ कुंड तैयार करवाओ और उनमें घृत (घी) भरवा दो।'
वेदव्यास ने गांधारी के गर्भ से निकले मांस पिण्ड पर अभिमंत्रित जल छिड़का जिससे उस पिण्ड के अंगूठे के पोरुये के बराबर सौ टुकड़े हो गए। वेदव्यास ने उन टुकड़ों को गांधारी के बनवाए हुए सौ कुंडों में रखवा दिया और उन कुंडों को दो वर्ष पश्चात खोलने का आदेश देकर अपने आश्रम चले गए। दो वर्ष बाद सबसे पहले कुंड से दुर्योधन की उत्पत्ति हुई। फिर उन कुंडों से धृतराष्ट्र के शेष 99 पुत्र एवं दु:शला नामक एक कन्या का जन्म हुआ।
5] महान योद्धा बर्बरीक :
बर्बरीक महान पांडव भीम के पुत्र घटोत्कच और नागकन्या अहिलवती के पुत्र थे। कहीं-कहीं पर मुर दैत्य की पुत्री 'कामकंटकटा' के उदर से भी इनके जन्म होने की बात कही गई है। महाभारत का युद्ध जब तय हो गया तो बर्बरीक ने भी युद्ध में सम्मिलित होने की इच्छा व्यक्त की और मां को हारे हुए पक्ष का साथ देने का वचन दिया। बर्बरीक अपने नीले रंग के घोड़े पर सवार होकर तीन बाण और धनुष के साथ कुरुक्षेत्र की रणभूमि की ओर अग्रसर हुए।
बर्बरीक के लिए तीन बाण ही काफी थे जिसके बल पर वे कौरव और पांडवों की पूरी सेना को समाप्त कर सकते थे। यह जानकर भगवान कृष्ण ने ब्राह्मण के वेश में उनके सामने उपस्थित होकर उनसे दान में छलपूर्वक उनका शीश मांग लिया।
बर्बरीक ने कृष्ण से प्रार्थना की कि वे अंत तक युद्ध देखना चाहते हैं, तब कृष्ण ने उनकी यह बात स्वीकार कर ली। फाल्गुन मास की द्वादशी को उन्होंने अपने शीश का दान दिया। भगवान ने उस शीश को अमृत से सींचकर सबसे ऊंची जगह पर रख दिया ताकि वे महाभारत युद्ध देख सकें। उनका सिर युद्धभूमि के समीप ही एक पहाड़ी पर रख दिया गया, जहां से बर्बरीक संपूर्ण युद्ध का जायजा ले सकते थे।
6] राशियां नहीं थीं ज्योतिष का आधार :
महाभारत के दौर में राशियां नहीं हुआ करती थीं। ज्योतिष 27 नक्षत्रों पर आधारित था, न कि 12 राशियों पर। नक्षत्रों में पहले स्थान पर रोहिणी था, न कि अश्विनी। जैसे-जैसे समय गुजरा, विभिन्न सभ्यताओं ने ज्योतिष में प्रयोग किए और चंद्रमा और सूर्य के आधार पर राशियां बनाईं और लोगों का भविष्य बताना शुरू किया, जबकि वेद और महाभारत में इस तरह की विद्या का कोई उल्लेख नहीं मिलता जिससे कि यह पता चले कि ग्रह नक्षत्र व्यक्ति के जीवन को प्रभावित करते हैं।
7] विदेशी भी शामिल हुए थे लड़ाई में :
महाभारत के युद्ध में विदेशी भी शामिल हुए थे। एक ओर जहां यवन देश की सेना ने युद्ध में भाग लिया था वहीं दूसरी ओर ग्रीक, रोमन, अमेरिका, मेसिडोनियन आदि योद्धाओं के लड़ाई में शामिल होने का प्रसंग आता है। इस आधार पर यह माना जाता है कि महाभारत विश्व का प्रथम विश्व युद्ध था।
8] 28वें वेदव्यास ने लिखी महाभारत :
ज्यादातर लोग यह जानते हैं कि महाभारत को वेदव्यास ने लिखा है लेकिन यह अधूरा सच है। वेदव्यास कोई नाम नहीं, बल्कि एक उपाधि थी, जो वेदों का ज्ञान रखने वाले लोगों को दी जाती थी। कृष्णद्वैपायन से पहले 27 वेदव्यास हो चुके थे, जबकि वे खुद 28वें वेदव्यास थे। उनका नाम कृष्णद्वैपायन इसलिए रखा गया, क्योंकि उनका रंग सांवला (कृष्ण) था और वे एक द्वीप पर जन्मे थे।
9] दुशासन के पुत्र ने मारा अभिमन्यु को :
लोग यह जानते हैं कि अभिमन्यु की हत्या चक्रव्यूह में सात महारथियों द्वारा की गई थी। इन सातों महारथियों ने मिलकर अभिमन्यु की हत्या कर दी थी लेकिन यह सच नहीं है। महाभारत के मुताबिक, अभिमन्यु ने बहादुरी से लड़ते हुए चक्रव्यूह में मौजूद सात में से एक महारथी (दुर्योधन के बेटे) को मार गिराया था। इससे नाराज होकर दुशासन के बेटे ने अभिमन्यु की हत्या कर दी थी।
10] तीन चरणों में लिखी महाभारत :
वेदव्यास की महाभारत को बेशक मौलिक माना जाता है, लेकिन वह तीन चरणों में लिखी गई। पहले चरण में 8,800 श्लोक, दूसरे चरण में 24 हजार और तीसरे चरण में एक लाख श्लोक लिखे गए। वेदव्यास की महाभारत के अलावा भंडारकर ओरिएंटल रिसर्च इंस्टीट्यूट, पुणे की संस्कृत महाभारत सबसे प्रामाणिक मानी जाती है।
अंग्रेजी में संपूर्ण महाभारत दो बार अनूदित की गई थी। पहला अनुवाद 1883-1896 के बीच किसारी मोहन गांगुली ने किया था और दूसरा मनमंथनाथ दत्त ने 1895 से 1905 के बीच। 100 साल बाद डॉ. देबरॉय तीसरी बार संपूर्ण महाभारत का अंग्रेजी में अनुवाद कर रहे हैं।
