Shriya was also dragged into a dressing controversy in the year 2008, when she attended the 175th day celebration of superstar Rajinikanth’s movie “Sivaji –the boss”. The actress was seen dressed up in a low necked creamish white silk gown which revealed her deep neckline and this was found out as objectionable by the “Hindu Makkal Katchi” organization which framed Shriya for wearing objectionable outfit for a public function. Shriya was dragged into the media and was about to be legally embedded.

But Shriya immediately conveyed her apologies in front of the media and gave an explanation to it. She revealed that she was back from a shooting and was given no time to change her costume. So, for this reason she had to attend the film function with the same costume which was used in the movies. The HMK accepted the apology and also warned Shriya as well as other actresses for any such deeds in future.
