Indian-American Manisha Singh Confirmed on Key State Department Post by Senate
The Indian-American Manisha Singh has been confirmed on the key state department post by Senate. She will be replacing Charles Rivkin as the Assistant Secretary of State for Economic Affairs.
The United States Senate has confirmed the nomination of a prominent Indian-American lawyer, Manisha Singh on a key post in the State Department, which will also make her the in-charge of the State’s economic diplomacy.
Singh, who was working as a chief counsel and senior advisor to Dan Sullivan, was confirmed on the new post by voice vote as well as several diplomatic nominations as well. She will be replacing Charles Rivkin as the Assistant Secretary of State for Economic Affairs.
45-year-old Manisha Singh, who has significant experience of working as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Economic Energy, aide to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Energy and Business Affairs.
She has also practiced law in the multinational firms as well as in the investment bank.
Singh, who is native to Uttar Pradesh in India, moved to Florida along with the parents as a child, received her BA from University of Miami and went on to receive LL.M in International Legal Studies from University of Washington College of Law.
