Tamasin Waterfall

It is an attractive beauty spot of Chatra situated on the north-east at the distance of 26 kms. Tamasin has a break up of 'tamasin' which means 'darkness prevails '. This area is full of mixed forest having high trees making the area dark even in the daylight.

This waterfall is seated in the valley of natural blossoming beauty and is attractive in every sense. After passing through the thick dense forest one can reach a narrow gorge. This is at a height of nearly 60 feet from the other side of the refreshing hill water of Mahane river falls. One can also gain access to this place from Kolleheya. Groups of monkeys can be seen here. Roughly at a depth of 100 m, the rippling sound of water of this waterfall looks nothing short of mind blowing.

Tamasin literally implies 'Darkness prevails’. True to its name it, the foliage around masks the area into darkness even when the sun is still up. This place deserves the adoration of tourists all over the world and is a lesser explored part of India.
